No guesswork, no unnecessary treatments. A one-to-one skin consultation with Ed Harbourne — the first step into MAPT's microneedling plan for men.
Who's Ed
I'm Ed — 15 years in the aesthetics industry, including running clinics across the UK and US, before setting up MAPT on my own in Brighton. Every consultation and every treatment is done by me, not passed between staff.
I've been through this myself — hair, body, skin, the lot — so I know the real questions men actually have. There are no shortcuts in this space, but there is clarity: a straight conversation first, a plan second, no pressure either way.
The consultation
We look at your skin under standard and UV light, including imaging that shows what's happening beneath the surface — acne and scarring, pigmentation, texture, sensitivity — not just what's visible day to day.
You'll get the imagery alongside a written summary of what we found and a clear recommendation — built around your skin specifically, not a generic package.
No guesswork, no unnecessary treatments. You leave with clarity and a plan. Whether you go ahead is entirely up to you.
Why the two-light scan matters
Standard light shows surface texture and tone. UV light shows sun damage, congestion and other detail sitting underneath — it's a big part of why the consultation happens before any product or treatment decision.

The treatment
Microneedling uses ultra-fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin, which encourages your skin's own collagen and elastin production. At MAPT it's paired with peptides and GF5, and typically done as a series of at least three sessions.
Expect some redness for 24–48 hours afterwards. Most men see an initial glow within days, with the fuller effect on texture and tone building over 4–6 weeks as collagen production increases. What it can do for your skin specifically is exactly what the consultation is for.

What clients say
Vinicius Pinheiro
"At 40 years of age, I've never had any type of skin treatments apart from using a face moisturiser. My first session with Ed was very informative and the treatment itself was painless. I'm very much looking forward to my next session and to understand more about my skin journey. Also I can recommend the face analysis to understand any underlying concerns you may have! Thanks Ed"
Google ReviewSanraj Mengar
"Had my first session including a thorough skin analysis to understand more, followed by a microneedling session, which was painless. I can already see a glow! I've also now been using my new serums, which have easily been added to my morning routine. Thanks Ed"
Google ReviewMax Steele
"Had microneedling with Ed and honestly was surprisingly pretty painless and really well explained throughout. Ed explained how it's long-term, not a quick fix, and I'm happy with that. Really appreciated the aftercare advice too, especially around using SPF properly. Would definitely recommend if you're looking to improve your skin without anything too intense."
